Project overview

The piece is an adaptation of live-action footage from various sources, including amateur shots that capture the commotion experienced, expert photography by Kena Lorenzini, and more sanitised material taken from news broadcasts.

Through charcoal rotoscoping, the technique gives the short film a volatile, unstable and raw texture, connecting with the visceral nature of the music and images. I decided to keep the original charcoal look, as it conveys a sense of darkness and chronicle, which suits this compilation of clips that serve as a kind of sequential memory.

At its core, the film is an emotional outlet intended to provide a point of connection and empathetic channelling. It aims to inspire, motivate and call for action, but above all to evoke the sense of community that emerges within the feminist movement.

This project was developed as my final animation project during my Master’s degree and was selected for the Student Pitch event at the Annecy International Animation Festival in June 2025. You can read more about it here.
